| Stearns Wharf
|
|
Stearns Wharf, the West Coast's oldest operating wooden pier, offers a seafood market, wine-tasting, restaurants, gallerias and shops. Built in 1872 as a shipping terminal by lumber company owner John P. Stearns, the Wharf first made Santa Barbara accessible by sea. Today it has evolved into one of Santa Barbara's biggest tourist attractions with its seaside location, interesting shops and great fresh seafood restaurants. Stearns Wharf is also the home of the Sea Center museum, the embarking point of many leisure and tourist vessels.
