Girlfriends' getaway: a 3 day itinerary

The holidays will be here before we know it. So that means right now is the time to take deep breaths, sleep a little extra and relax as much as possible. What better way to do that than a rejuvenating, life-giving weekend with girlfriends in Santa Barbara.

Day 1

Arrive in Santa Barbara and check in to the BW Plus Pepper Tree Inn. The huge courtyards with lush greenery will welcome you with a big hug. Better yet, each room has its own private patio or balcony to enjoy the gardens in. If you plan in advance, you can take advantage of our special offer – a one hour Swedish massage for just $65 dollars. This will be a great way to ease into your getaway and set the pace and mindset for the rest of your stay. If you choose to forego a massage, why not grab a bottle of champagne and lay out by the pool. Santa Barbara's 300+ days of sunshine each year, will be sure to give your skin the sun kissed glow you're looking for.

After a relaxing afternoon, head to the harbor to catch a view of the sunrise dipping over the hills to the west. For dinner, we suggest Brophy Brothers. With magnificent views of the Harbor and coastline, you and your friends will enjoy an iconic Santa Barbara experience. End the day sitting around the fire pit at the Pepper Tree with your friends, exchanging stories and talking about your holiday plans.

Day 2

Begin your day with a short walk across the street for breakfast. Backyard Bowls is a Santa Barbara staple offering 100% organic breakfast bowls and smoothies. Your body will thank you for choosing a lighter breakfast that will also satisfy your taste buds.

Continue your walk a couple minutes farther and find yourself in the heart of La Cumbre Plaza. Nothing says treat your self like a shopping trip. La Cumbre Plaza has a wide selection of stores including Macy's, Tiffany's, William Sonoma, J Jill, and Talbots. You can begin your holiday shopping here or you can simply treat yourself to something extra special.

Enjoy your free afternoon by exploring some of the many quaint paseos in town that are filled with small boutiques and gift stores. El Paseo and La Arcada are two of our favorites! While exploring El Paseo, you will notice the pathways are lined with boutiques, restaurants, and 8 local wine tasting rooms. We recommend stopping for lunch in one of the many restaurants and indulge in tasting at Margerum Family Wines, Grassini Family Vineyards, and Jamie Slone Wines. Finally, don't miss the YES store – a Holiday boutique downtown featuring local arts and crafts. It's a great place to find thoughtful, creative gifts.

Unwind from a day of shopping with dinner at Lure Fish House. Across the street from the Pepper Tree, Lure is a local favorite for fresh seafood in a welcoming, comfortable environment.

Day 3

End your trip with a highlight. Head to Hendry's Beach for a morning walk followed by breakfast at The Boathouse. Set in a private area, The Boathouse is steps from the water and has delicious food to pair with the best seat to watch the waves roll in. You'll be dreaming of this place until your next visit to Santa Barbara.
